Besides the travels of Ibn Baṭúṭa, repeatedly cited in the notes, much light is thrown on this period by the travels in Persia of Friar Odoric of Pordenone about A.D. 1318; * the particulars given about “Bousaet” or “Boussay” (i.e. Abú Sa'íd) and his kingdom by the Archbishop of Sulṭániyya in a tract written about A.D. 1330; and the narratives of the consuls who represented Venetian interests in Tabríz and other Persian towns between the years A.D. 1305 and 1332.*
