To MEER KÂZIM, and the other Commercial Agents at MUSCAT, dated
18th HYDERY. (25th November.)

HAVING ascertained in what part of that country saffron is culti­vated,* engage two persons in our service, and send them thither to purchase one or two maunds* of the seed, which [when procured] is to be dispatched to us. You must also procure silk-worms, and send them hither, together with some men acquainted with the mode of managing them, to whom you will make an advance of money for their support.

N.B. A letter, to the same effect, was written to the Dulâl (or public broker) at Muscat.
