XXVII BAHRÁM BAHRÁMIYÁN HE REIGNED FOUR MONTHS
NOTE

According to Tabarí this Sháh (Varahran III., A.D. 293) reigned four years,*

but Mas'údí, like Firdausí, says four months.*

Professor Nöldeke suggests that he reigned for four months only in the capital, but ruled longer in other parts of the kingdom, probably in conflict with Narsí,*

his uncle, historically, as Bahrám Bahrámiyán appears to have been the son of Urmuzd, son of Shápúr.*

The true owner of the title of “Kirmánsháh” is Bahrám, son of Shápúr (Varahran IV., A.D. 388-399).
