After this conference with Sultan Ali Mirza, as the winter season was fast approaching, and great scarcity prevailed in the country of Samarkand, I returned to Andejān, and Sultan Ali Mirza to Bokhāra. returned to Hissār. Nay, this was his only object in advancing against Samarkand.

About this time Mahdi Sultan fled from the territory of Shirāz and Kānbāi and went to Samarkand; and Hamzeh Sultan, having received my permission, also went from Zamīn and repaired to the same place.
