1704. LETTER XXXIII.

Exalted son, the bones of Shūjá’at Khán Muhammad Beg* are not yet rotten (i.e., he died only a short while ago). The rights of Shūja’at Khán’s service should not be overlooked. He has two survivors, two sons-in-law and one adopted son.* Why have you dismissed these heirs of Shūjá’at Khán for (their) slight offence, the truth or untruth of which is known to God (alone)? To dismiss a Mohemadan for the sake of a Hindu is an unreasonable act.*
