LETTER CXLVI.

Evidently Mahábat Khán of Haiderábád* died at Láhore. He has no other heir except his grandson whose father is dead. You should write to the administrator of the district thereof to confiscate the Khán’s property with caution and honesty. Because the royal treasury belongs to the public.* The king is the trustee (of people) and the officers are appointed by the king. None but the needy and the weak can claim a share of the property.
