SHAYKH ABDU'L ḲUDDÚS.

He asserted himself to be a descendant of Abú Ḥanífah. He was the disciple of Shaykh Muḥammad-b-Shaykh Aárif-b-Shaykh Aḥmad Abd'ul Ḥaḳḳ. He acquired secular and spiritual learning and became eminent in theology. Many of his mystical sayings are recorded. The Emperor Humáyún with a few of the learned, visited him in his cell and an animated controversy took place. He folded up the carpet of his life in A. H. 950 (A. D. 1543).
