SHAYKH AḤMAD KHAṬṬÚ.

His title was Jamálu'ddín and he was born at Delhi, in A. H. 737 (A. D. 1336), of a noble family of that city. He was the disciple and vicegerent of Bábá Isḥáḳ Maghrabí. His name was Naṣíru'ddín. By a freak of fortune he was carried away from his dwelling in a tempest of wind. After a time he was blessed with the instruction of Bábá Isḥáḳ Maghrabí and garnered a store of secular and theological learning. In the reign of Sulṭán Aḥmad Gujarátí (A. D. 1411–43), he came to Gujarát where all classes received him with respect and were loud in his praise. He subsequently travelled in Arabia and Persia and met many eminent doctors. He was buried in Sarkhech, near Aḥmadábád.
