He stood in the relation of a disciple to his maternal uncle Shaykh Shihábu'ddín Aḥmad Ghaznaví and flourished during the reign of Shams u'ddín Altmish. Khwájah Ḳuṭbu'ddín U´shi and Shaykh Niẓámu'ddín Auliyá, both considered an interview with him as a great happiness.
