Was one of the generals of Changíz Khán, and in the reign of Mu'iz­zu'ddín Bahrám Sháh (A. D. 1239–42) son of Sulṭán Shamsu'ddín (Altmish), he was infatuated with the design of invading Hindustan. Malik Ḳaráḳash at that time held the government of Lahore in behalf of the Sulṭán and from want of spirit and the disunion among his followers, he set out one night for Delhi, and the town was sacked.*
