Was the father of Sulṭán Maḥmúd of Ghazní. After Bahrám Gor none of the (Persian) kings entered India. Sabuktigín invaded it at the head of an army in the year A.H. 367 (A.D. 977), and after several engagements returned to Ghazníṅn.
