This is of ancient date. Al Battáni states that its years are solar, artificial, consisting of 365 days without a fraction. The Sulṭáni tables say that its years and months resemble the Syro-Macedonian. It has the same intercalations, but the Coptic intercalary days precede those of the Syro-Macedonian by six months.
