And Qáẓí Baiẓáwí may God's mercy be upon him states that ^46. the duration of the Ghaznévide dynasty from Sulán Maḥmúd to Khusrau Sháh was one hundred and sixty-one years in the hands of twelve persons, while Qáẓí Yahya Qaẓwíní, may God's mercy be upon him, says one hundred and fifty-five years in the hands of fourteen persons, and the author of the Tarikh-i-Niámí, as has already been quoted above, says two hundred and fifteen years in the hands of fifteen persons, and God knows the real truth of the matter.*
