Mīr Ḥusayn ʿAlī Ḫān Kirmānī served the kingdom of Mysore under Ḥaidar ʿAlī (d. 1197/1782) and his son, Ṭipū Sulṭān (d. 1214/1799, see author 212). In 1215/1801 he finished Taḍkiraħ al-bilād va al-ḥukkām, a history of twelve principalities under the jurisdiction of Mysore. He completed a history of the reign of Ḥaidar ʿAlī and Ṭipū Sulṭān entitled Nišān-i Ḥaydarī in 1217/1802.
