ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq “Ḥaqqī” Dihlavī Buḫārī d. 1052/1642

ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq “Ḥaqqī” Dihlavī Buḫārī was born in Delhi in 958/1551. In 996/1587, he made the pilgrimage to Mecca, where he remained for two years studying the Traditions and Sufism under the guidance of famous scholars. He then returned to Delhi where he taught for half a century. Ḥaqqī reputedly wrote more than 100 works, among them a history of Medina, a biography of the Prophet, and a work on the lives of saints. Ḥaqqī died in Delhi in 1052/1642.
