Yūsuf ʿAlī Ḫān ibn Ğulām ʿAlī Ḫān

Yūsuf ʿAlī Ḫān ibn Ğulām ʿAlī Ḫān flourished during mid to late 12th/18th century Bengal and lived under the patronage of the Mughal governors there. He composed several historical works including a general history from the earliest times to 1170/1756 and a first-hand account of political events in Eastern India between 1175/1761 and 1181/1767.

Tārīḫ-i mahābat jang is a history of ʿAlī Virdī Ḫān Mahābat Jang, Governor of Bengal and friend of the author, and his successor Sirāj al-Daulah. The work was completed in 1177/1763–4.
