Munšī Šīv-Paršād was in the service of the Chief of the Rohilla Afghans at Rāmpur (“Rohilla” is the name given to the various tribes of Afghans who settled in what is now the western part of Uttar Pradesh in India). Šīv-Paršād is known for his work Tārīḫ-i Fayż-Baḫš, completed in 1190/1776. Tārīḫ-i Fayż-Baḫš is a history of the Rohilla Afghans of Kaither extending to their defeat by Šuja al-Daulah and the British East India Company in 1188/1774.
