Jur'at, Muḥammad Hāšim Musavī Ḫān

Muḥammad Hāšim Musavī Ḫān Jurʾāt lived in Hyderabad under the patronage of Niẓām al-Mulk Āṣaf Jāh I, a rebel noble of Delhi who established his center of power there. Aside from being a poet, his patrons also appointed him important positions in the government. His only known work is Munšaʾāt-i Jurʾāt, or Munšaʾāt-i Musavī Ḫān, a collection of letters compiled by the author’s grandson. He died in 1175/1761.
