Jahāndār Šāh ibn Šāh ʿĀlam, Javān-Baḫt

Memoirist

Javān-Baḫt ibn Šāh ʿĀlam (later in life known as Jahāndār Šāh) was the eldest son of Šāh ʿĀlam, ruler of Delhi (need dates here). “He was appointed Regent by Aḥmad Šāh Abdālī in 1761 after the battle of Pānīpat, and administered the empire until his father’s restoration in 1171”. After a falling out with his father in 1784, he fled (to Delhi and then Lucknow) and eventually ended up accompanying Warren Hastings (the Governor General of the EIC) to Benares. Jahāndār Šāh died in 1202–3/1788.
