"Ğaybī," ʿAla' al-Dīn Iṣfahānī, Mīrzā Nat'han Šitāb Ḫān

ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn “Ğaybī” Iṣfahānī served the Mughal Emperor Jahāngīr (see Jahāngīr) in a military capacity and earned the title of Šitāb Ḫān from that ruler. Ğaybī passed most of his life in Bengal. His only known work is Bahāristān-i Ğaybī. Bahāristān-i Ğaybī is a history of Bengal and Orissa in Jahāngīr’s time, divided into four parts. The work was completed in 1034/1624.

Ğiyāš al-Dīn Naqqāš was “attached by his patron to the Tīmūrid embassy to China in 823/1420-825/1422, with the special duty of drawing up a day-to-day descriptive account of the embassy”.
