Bhakkarī

Šayḫ Farīd ibn Šayḫ Maʿrūf Bhakkarī served the Mughal government during the reigns of Jahāngīr (see Jahāngīr) and Šāh Jahān. He is mainly known for his work Ẕaḫīraħ al-qawānīn, a compendium of biographies of nobles from the time of Akbar to 1060/1650. Ẕaḫīraħ al-qawānīn is divided into three parts: Akbar’s, Jahāngīr’s, and Šāh Jahān’s contemporaries.
