Awḥad al-Dīn Kirmānī, Ḥāmid ibn Abī al-Faḫr

A famous mystic, Ḥāmid ibn Abī al-Faḫr Awḥad al-Dīn Kirmānī flourished in the 6th/12th century. During his extensive travels, he met many revered mystics and sufi masters of the time, such as Ibn ʿArabī, who greatly influenced his ideas. Toward the end of his life, he retired to a neighborhood of Baghdād as a well-known mystical teacher. His date of death ranges from 562/1166 to 635/1238, the most probable being 634/1237 or 635/1238.

Awḥad al-Dīn belongs to the “representatives of shāhibāzī, the contemplation of the divine beauty in earthly forms, preferably in beautiful boys”.
