Aflākī, Šams al-Dīn Aḥmad

Biographer

Little is known on the life of Šams al-Dīn Aḥmad Aflākī. He was a disciple of Jalāl al-Dīn ʿĀrif, the grandson of the great poet Mawlānā Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (see Rūmī). At his request, Aflākī composed the work for which he is known, Manāqib al-ʿĀrifīn.
