Abū Bakr al-Quṭbī al-Aharī spent most of his life in his native land of Azerbaijan. His only known work is Tārīḫ-i Šayḫ Uvays. Tārīḫ-i Šayḫ Uvays is a general history, dividing events into those of Pre-Islamic times and Islamic times. It’s greatest value lies in its “first and second hand accounts of events in Azerbaijan related to Šayḫ Ḥasan and Šayḫ Uvays” (latter r. 756/1355 to 776/1374). Tārīḫ-i Šayḫ Uvays was dedicated to Šayḫ Uvays.
