SHAYKH JALÁLU'DDÍN TABRÍZÍ

Was the disciple of Sạíd Tabrízí. After some wanderings, he fell in with Shaykh Shihábu'ddín Suhrawardí and by his zealous service attained the office of vicegerent. He was on terms of intimacy with Khwájah Ḳuṭbu'ddín and Shaykh Baháu'ddín Zakaríyá. Shaykh Najmu'ddín Ṣughra, who was Shaykh u'l Islám at Delhi, bore enmity against him and maliciously incited a disreputable woman to accuse the Shaykh of incontinence. Through the miraculous powers of Shaykh Baháu'ddín Zakaríyá, the falsehood of the charge was established. He then went to Bengal. His tomb is in the port of Dev Maḥal.
